In some cases some comments are made about the artists presented here. In most cases no comments are included. It has become superfluous to comment on virtually all contemporary Japanese homoerotic artists since Gengorô Tagame’s published studies began in 2004. His books, Gay Erotic Art in Japan offer the most comprenhensive and extensive analysis of contemporary homoerotic Japanese artists since 1950.
